Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Lima, Peru

Upon arrival to Lima, you will be greeted and driven to your selected hotel. If staying at the Lima airport Costa del Sol Ramada, you will only need to walk out the airport exit and across the street to your evening accommodations.

Day 2 - Travel into the Inca Heartland

A morning flight connects you to Cuzco, the heart of Andean Peru. You'll immediately head by private transfer into the Sacred Valley, the fertile region that once fed the Inca Empire and that sits at a lower altitude than Cuzco. The afternoon is spent acclimatizing and enjoying the pristine Andean surroundings.

Day 3 - Private Sacred Valley Tour

Though it might be tempting to linger in luxury at your country estate hotel, today you'll be treated to a private tour of the Sacred Valley's highlights. You'll visit the ancient circular agricultural terraces of Moray, the ingenious salt pans at Maras, and the ruins and village of Ollantaytambo. These Inca creations are interspersed among rural farmland and traditional villages.

Day 4 - Private Choquechaca Full Day Tour

Your day will start with a 7a.m. pick-up, where you will be driven to a remote trail head. From there you continue on foot to begin your 2-3hr ascent into the remote village of Choquechaca. Upon arrival you will have an opportunity to eat a fresh mountain lunch and visit with the community. After you will return down the mountain stopping to tour the Inca ruins at Pumamarka. Lunch included.

Day 5 - Scenic Train Ride to Machu Picchu

A scenic train ride takes you along the Urubamba River and past Inca terraces, landscapes you'll enjoy through panoramic train windows on your way to the base of Machu Picchu. You will have the afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy your hotel. It's also an option to visit Machu Picchu on this day as well, enjoying the latter half of the afternoon in the Park.

Day 6 - Private Machu Picchu Tour

Uncover the secrets of Machu Picchu during a guided tour of this Incan citadel. You'll visit the most important parts of the ruins to learn how and why they were constructed. After the tour, you'll have time to further explore the ruins or sit back and enjoy the magic of Machu Picchu. You can also hike to the top of Huayna Picchu for a bird's eye view of the ruins. The steep path takes about an hour and a half to ascend. Departing from Machu Picchu town, enjoy a train ride to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at the train station you will be met and transferred to your Cuzco hotel.

Day 7 - Private Half Day Cuzco City Tour

During your tour of Cuzco, the capital of the Incan Empire, you'll visit Sacsayhuaman, an immense Incan complex with impressive stonework; Koricancha, one of the most important Incan temples (the walls were once actually coated in gold!); and Cuzco's Cathedral where you'll learn about the Cuzco School of Art.

Day 8 - International Departure

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Cuzco airport for your flight to Lima. (Optional recommended excursion) - Depending on the time of your international flight out a private tour of Lima's key sites can be arranged. You will visit the Larco Archaeological Museum, the San Francisco Monastery and its catacombs, Lima's historic colonial squares, and the picturesque waterfront district Miraflores.
