Winter wonderland (December - February) 

If you're not a fan of scorching heat, winter is undoubtedly the best time to explore India. During these months, the temperature across most of the country hovers between 50°F and 80°F. The northern regions, including Delhi, Agra, and Rajasthan, boast cool and pleasant weather, making it ideal for exploring iconic monuments like the Taj Mahal.

Down south in places like Kerala and Goa, the climate remains comfortable for beach lovers, with temperatures ranging from 70°F to 85°F. Winter is also one of the best times to go on a safari to witness majestic tigers and other iconic species in their natural habitat. 

Spring awakening (March - April)

As winter transitions into spring, India experiences a gradual rise in temperatures. March and April offer a delightful blend of warm days and cool evenings, with temperatures ranging from 70°F to 95°F. This period is perfect for enjoying outdoor activities, visiting colorful festivals like Holi, and exploring regions such as Jaipur, the Golden Triangle, and Udaipur. It’s also considered a shoulder season for tiger safaris.

Summer in India can be unforgiving, with temperatures soaring as high as 110°F in some parts of the country. If you plan to visit during this season, head to the northern hill stations like Shimla, Manali, or Darjeeling, where temperatures remain between 60°F and 85°F. The southern coastal areas, like Goa, Kochi and Kerala, provide some respite from the heat, with temperatures ranging from 80°F to 95°F. 

Monsoon magic (July - September) 

The monsoon season in India, from July to September, brings relief from the scorching summer heat. While the rains can be heavy and unpredictable, the lush green landscapes and revitalized rivers make this an enchanting time to visit. Temperatures during the monsoon months range from 75°F to 95°F. Explore the cultural treasures of cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, and Delhi while embracing the refreshing showers. This is also a fantastic time to visit the southern region of Kochi, Kumarakom and Munnar

As the monsoon retreats, India welcomes the fall or autumn season with open arms. This is another fantastic time to visit, with temperatures ranging from 70°F to 90°F in most parts of the country. The post-monsoon period brings lush vegetation, clear skies, and a plethora of festivals, including Diwali. It's an excellent time to experience the diverse cultures of India and explore cities like Varanasi, Jaipur, and Mysore.
